The charming lakeside city of Geneva, Switzerland comes to life each summer with various festivities and events, including this major festival which typically happens each year around this period (mid-August) until it was halted in 2018 for economic reasons. I was fortunate to attend this fun event in different years when it featured carnival rides, stalls, shows, games, and a large fireworks display — which luckily has still remained. Lots of amazing outdoor adventure activities can be done around the country, and there are plenty of quiet secluded towns in the mountains as well for those looking for moments of mental peace and clarity.
